Benham Schoolhouse Inn — Kentucky

The record

The Wisconsin Steel Company built this school in 1926 for its coal-camp community. Classes ended in 1992, and the building became an inn. Lewis O. Powell IV cites Theresa Racer’s account of guests reporting encounters interpreted as former pupils remaining in the converted school.
