Filson Historical Society — Ferguson Mansion

Louisville, Kentucky

The record

Built for Walter Hite Ferguson in 1901, this mansion later housed a funeral business before becoming a historical society. David Dominé’s account, discussed by Lewis O. Powell IV, attributes displaced books, footsteps and slamming doors to “Sally.” The identity behind that nickname is undocumented.

Paranormal explanations remain claims, not established facts. Read the original sources for context.
