Manteo, North Carolina

The record

Established in 1918, the Pioneer Theater has a reported haunting attributed to a former projectionist. Patrons describe unexpected cold, electrical disturbances and footsteps near the projection room. The venue reopened after renovation in May 2023, continuing its movie-house history alongside the stories told about its booth.
