The record
The Pfister is widely associated with guest reports of unusual experiences, but its ghost story also has a traceable publicity history. PBS’s Inside the Pfister describes a Halloween press release that helped establish the Charles Pfister legend. This makes the hotel a useful case for separating a real building, reported experiences, and the development of a commercial ghost narrative.
