West Virginia Penitentiary — West Virginia

The record

West Virginia’s official Paranormal Trail identifies the former penitentiary as a location associated with ongoing paranormal reports. Its prison history is real, while claims about spirits require separate assessment. Visit through authorized programs and distinguish a historical tour from an event built around investigation or Halloween entertainment.

Paranormal explanations remain claims, not established facts. Read the original sources for context.
